Betsy Burke Leonard

Betsy Burke Leonard, 77, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin. She was born to the late Aaron Burke and Elizabeth Davis Burke on February 20, 1947, in Forsyth County. 

Betsy attended West Forsyth High School and Draughon Business College. She worked most of her life at AT&T and Saralee/Hanesbrands where she retired. In her free time, Betsy enjoyed attending SOS in North Myrtle Beach and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed being with her granddaughter, Kristen, as she was the center of her universe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Burke. She is survived by her loving son, Perry Leonard (Kim); granddaughter, Kristen Elizabeth Leonard; and special cousin, Lynn Jernigan; along with numerous friends and family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at New Philadelphia Moravian Church Graveyard.
