Betty Brown

Mrs. Betty Lou Willard Brown, 89, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. She was born in Old Salem on June 11, 1929, to the late Alberta Money Willard and Hobert E. Willard. Betty graduated from James R. Gray High School in 1947 and attended Draughn Business College. She was a very active member of Immanuel Moravian Church for 46 years. She was a member of the Women's Fellowship serving on both boards, diner and teacher in the primary Department. Betty joined Konnoak Hills in April of 2008. The last few years of her life she lived at Salemtowne, in Winston-Salem, NC. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, C. Edsel Brown; brother, Morris E. Willard; son-in-law, Dr. Andrew E. Fix. She is survived by two children, Lou Carol Brown Fix of Coopersburg, PA and Kenneth (Kenny) Lee Brown and wife Tammie Lee Crotts Brown of Winston-Salem, NC; grandsons, Carlin Brown and wife Angela of Clemmons, NC; Weston Brown and wife Mary Anna of Winston-Salem, NC; Adam L. Fix of Minneapolis, MN; great granddaughters, Taylor and Haiden Brown; great grandsons, Ryland and Cannon Brown; brother, James W. Willard and wife Laminda of Winston- Salem, NC; nephew, J. Wes Willard and wife Hazel of Mooresville, NC; great nephew, Wesley; great niece, Hannah Grace Willard of Mooresville, NC. Funeral services will be held on 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. John Rights officiating. Family will receive friends 12:45-2:00 PM. Burial will be in Gods Acre at Old Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunnyside Ministry, 319 Haled Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or Konnoak Hills Moravian Church, 3401 Konnoak Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. She also wishes to thank the nurses and assistants and staff at Salemtowne for their care of her.
