Betty 'Billie' Baynes Brown

Walnut CoveBetty ""Billie"" Baynes Brown, 87, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County on December 20, 1926 to the late Henry A. and Ethel McNeil Baynes. Mrs. Brown graduated from Mineral Springs High School. She had attended several churches over the years and most recently was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burnsville where she was active in the Women's Fellowship. She was a very giving person always putting others first. Mrs. Brown was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceding her in death was her husband, Paul Daniel Brown and a grandson, Andrew Alan Brown. Surviving are three sons, Alex Brown and wife, Sara of Lakeland, FL, David Brown and wife, Linda of Walnut Cove, and Tim Brown and wife, Jeannie of Surf City; granddaughter, Amy Brown Woodard of Lakeland, FL; also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren, Lindsey Diane Brown, Luke Brown, Jake Brown, Elijah Woodard, and Wyatt Woodard. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
