Betty Jo Bullins

Ms. Betty Jo Bullins, 84, passed away on March 30, 2024, at LifeBrite nursing facility in Danbury. She was born on February 29, 1940, in Stokes County to the late Elmer and Pensie Bullins. Betty retired from RJ Reynolds after many years of service. She also worked at Walnut Cove Healthcare for 17 years after her retirement. Betty enjoyed watching wrestling, western TV shows, and birdwatching. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by three siblings; one son, Harold “Daniel” Sutphin; and longtime companion, Velbert Wood. She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Bullins (Shannon); two grandchildren, Joshua Bullins and Jennifer Sutphin; three great-grandchildren, Cole, Adam, and Luna; one sister, Nancy J. Hennis (Kenneth); one brother, Odell Bullins; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her nephew Vance and the Staff of LifeBrite and Mountain Valley Hospice for their care of Betty.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday April 3, 2024, at Wilson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Roger Brown officiating.
