Betty "Betty Jo" Mock Carlton

Mrs. Betty ""Betty Jo"" Mock Carlton, 83, of Advance passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born June 25, 1932 in Guilford County to Elmer Simeon and Julia Belle Marsh Mock. Mrs. Carlton was a member of Mocks United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She retired after 35 years of service with the U.S. Government, of which 28 years were with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Norman ""Norm"" Larry Carlton and two brothers, Billy E. Mock and Jerry Wayne Mock. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Mocks United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
