Betty Chamberlain

Betty Lou Denny Chamberlain, 90, went to be with our Precious Heavenly Father and her loving husband on Friday, April 13, 2018. She was born in Forsyth County on September 23, 1927 to Cliffton Denny and Arrie Harrell. Betty worked at Hanes for a short stint, was a homemaker, and helped with the family business. She was an active member of Winston Salem First as long as her health permitted. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Robert; and brother, C.O. She was the most amazing Mother to seven children, Darryl Wayne Chamberlain (Mary) of Winston-Salem; Robert Dallas Chamberlain (Lisa) and Linda Chamberlain Flippin, both of King; Douglas Kent Chamberlain (Gina) of Advance; Ruth Chamberlain Davis (Robert) of King; Samuel Franklin Chamberlain (Loretta) and Christina Chamberlain Glasscoe (Jamie) both of Tobaccoville. She was Grandma, Memaw or Granny to Todd, Michelle, Michael, Meredith, Angela, Chris, Brittany, TJ, Nicholas, Grayson, Kayla, Kelsey, Trevin and Ava-Grace, 15 great grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. Also, surviving are 2 sisters, Dorothy Childress and Lavine Ellis. Betty enjoyed studying God's Word, travelling, the beach, fishing and her family. Spring and Summer were her seasons - you could always find her outside from sun up to sundown in her flowers or garden. She had a very generous heart and was always warm and welcoming. Mom will be missed tremendously. The funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Randall Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Waughtown Cemetery in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
