WINSTON-SALEM-Mrs. Betty Jean Martin Coleman, 82, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on June 11, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Carl L. Martin, Sr. and Elsie Brendle Martin. Betty was a member of Waughtown Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Columbus Coleman; daughter, Judy Coleman; granddaughter, Ashley McKnight; two sisters, Virginia Carter and Mary Frances Coleman; and one brother, Carl L. Martin, Jr.. Mrs. Coleman is survived by two daughters, Christine McKnight and husband, Frankie of Walkertown, NC and Diane Rushing of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Michael Pack of Walkertown, Jody Rushing, Dana Rushing Whiting and husband, Lee, and Stacy Rushing, all of Winston-Salem; two great-grandchildren, De-jah Turner and Dean Fulton; one great-great-grandson, Ethan Fulton; and two sisters, Dorathy Raker and husband, Lamar and Pattie Dowell, all of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jerry Goode officiating.
