Mrs. Betty Briscoe Crotts, 90, passed away December 16, 2016 at her home. She was born August 18, 1926 in Johnston County, North Carolina to the late Evan Lafayette Briscoe and Lillie Frances Balance Briscoe. Mrs. Crotts was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. She was a graduate of Carolina General Hospital School of Nursing in Wilson, NC in 1950 and she graduated from Bowman Gray School of Anesthesia in 1952. Mrs. Crotts retired from Forsyth Medical Center in 1979 with 17 years of service as a nurse anesthetist. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fleetwood A. White, Jr. and her second husband, Dr. Hylton K. Crotts. She was also preceded in death by her son, Fleetwood A. White III, and her two brothers, Evan L. Briscoe, Jr. and James E. Briscoe, and her sister, Marie B. Annis. Mrs. Crotts is survived by her two sons, Barry F. White and wife Maria and David M. White; three granddaughters, Tara White Schielder and husband Scott, Mariah White Gonzalez and husband Antonio, and Paige White; her sister, Edith Balazsi and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Aiden. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Centenary United Methodist Church with the Rev. R. Craig Ford officiating. A graveside service will follow at Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, 646 West Fifth St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
