Mrs. Betty Fansler Griffin of Winston-Salem went to be with the angels in heaven after a year of declining health. She was of the Baptist faith. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Frances Fansler, her husband of 50 years, John Griffin, Sr. and two brothers, Bobby Fansler and Gray Fansler. Surviving are her four children, Jerry W. Griffin and Sandra Ledford of Winston-Salem, John Griffin, Jr. of Charlotte, and Steve Griffin of Pilot Mountain; three granddaughters, Amber, Kristen and Chelsea; and four great granddaughters, Adlynn, Autum, Alysa and Kaydence; and three sisters, Dorothy Hudspeth, Mary Parrish and Wanda Clark; and several nieces and nephews. Betty always brought a smile to your face and never met a stranger. She would donate to charities and ASPCA whenever she could afford it. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, February 18, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The Griffin family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the ICU at Forsyth Medical Center for their support and kindness during this difficult time. Memorials may be made to ASPCA.
