Betty Hahn

Mrs. Betty Lou Southern Hahn, 77, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019. She was born in Forsyth County on May 3, 1941, to the late James Floyd and Alice Jane Caudill Southern. Mrs. Hahn was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She received her Associates degree in Bible study from New Hope Baptist College. Mrs. Hahn retired from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Brenner Children’s Hospital, where she was a pediatric nurse, with twenty years of dedicated service. She was a very friendly lady, that never met a stranger. Mrs. Hahn enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, shopping, attending church, but most importantly, her family. Preceding her in death are her parents and a son, Randy Carl Hahn. Surviving are her husband, Robert C. Hahn; a son, Robert James Hahn and wife Ginger of King; three grandchildren: Bethany Paige Hahn, Anna Leigh Hahn, and Noah Ryan Hahn; a sister, Edna Arsula Hudspeth and husband Richard of Kernersville; a brother, Johnny Fuel Southern and wife Clara; and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted in her honor 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 16, 2019, at New Hope Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Charles B. Carver. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, February 15, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
