Betty May Hamill

Oak Ridge - Mrs. Betty May Hamill, 81 , died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at her home. She was born August 12, 1926 in Nash County, NC to the late Will A. and Hattie Vick May. She was a retired employee from the City of Greensboro with 20 years of service and an active member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Earl Hamill, two sisters, Rebecca Glasgow and Rachel Ferrell, and one brother, Pete May. Surviving are; two daughters, Betty Jo Morris of Florence, SC, and Becky Keller and husband Phillip of Statesville, two grandchildren; Kristi Snipes and Jamie Morris, and a special friend Paul Stephens. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Dean and Dr. Brooks Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville.
