Betty Joan Mitchell Jiles

Betty Joan Mitchell Jiles, 73, departed this life on March 15, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Health, Winston Salem, NC. Ms. Jiles was born on October 29, 1942 in Rural Hall, NC to the late Vecue Kiser and Blanche Oakes Mitchell. She was a faithful member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Jiles retired from Wake Forest Baptist Health after 24 years of service.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Jiles was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Shelley Jiles; son, LeAnder Love; daughter, Sandra Love; and brother, Phillip Mitchell.

Left to cherish memories are her daughters, Tandra Dixon (Vance), Angelia Love and Loretta Walters; a devoted granddaughter, Lakisha P. Love and six other grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a devoted sister, Cody M. Phillips and four other sisters, Gwendolyn Leonard, Emily Rader (Coleman), Ellen Hairston (William) and Mary Joyner; four brothers, Ray Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell (Catherine), Vecue Mitchell and Christopher Kimbrough (Claire) and a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Warren Napper officiating. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
