Mrs. Betty Jo Riddle Hartman, age 94 of Farmington, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Cadence of Clemmons. She was born October 2, 1931 in Davie County to the late Grady Vestal Riddle and Vada Smith Riddle. Mrs. Hartman was a long-time member of Farmington Methodist Church, volunteered for Store House for Jesus and had retired as Cafeteria Manager for Davie County Schools. Betty Jo was an avid sports fan, especially Duke Basketball. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Charles Hartman, one son, Benny Hartman and one sister, Eula Riddle Holder and one brother, Vestal Riddle. Surviving are her three daughters, Wanda Rowe (David) of Clemmons, Ruth Zink (Chris) of Mocksville and Peggy Blocker (Todd) also of Mocksville; one son, Charles Hartman (Cathy) of High Point; one daughter-in-law, Sarah Hartman; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Penny Bowles (Jimmy) of Advance and Linda Stephens (Jim) of Swansboro and one brother, Larry Riddle (Sue) of Advance. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, December 19, 2025 at Farmington Methodist Church by Pastor Joey Yokeley. Burial will follow in the Farmington Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church fellowship hall.
