Betty Ketchie

Mrs. Betty Jane Eddinger Ketchie, 89, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018. She loved God, her family, and the Tarheels. Betty was born September 24, 1928, in Winston-Salem to William Samuel and Mabel Paton Eddinger. She was a member of Griffith Baptist Church and a professional seamstress for over 50 years. Betty was an avid fan of her grandchildren's sports and was known to many umpires by name. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald E. Ketchie; one sister, Gladys Blair; and four brothers, Bill, Bobby, Jack, & Jerry Eddinger. Surviving are her children, Pam (Walt) Frye, Ronnie (LuAnn) Ketchie, Sterling (Barbara) Ketchie, Marsha (Mike) Gudger, and Randy Ketchie; 12 grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) Stewart, and Jason (Sherry) Ketchie, Nick (Elizabeth) Frye, Eric (Jessica) Ketchie, Steven (Tiffany) Gudger, Kelly (Trevor) Davis, Haley (Christy) Gudger, Kyle Ketchie, Paige (Will) Ely, Katelyn (Jacob) Kelley, Laken Gudger, Ally Gudger; and 18 great-grandchildren, Ansley, Reagan, Palmer Stewart, Dylan, Marley, Ryder Ketchie, Jack & Max Frye, Summer, Logan, Lilly Ketchie, Cash & Maddox Gudger, Nolan & Landri Davis, Camden & Brady Gudger, Skylar & Emery Kelley. Also surviving are one sister, Ann Lambeth; and one brother, Jimmy Eddinger. A funeral will be held at 2pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Griffith Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. A graveside service will also be held at 11am on Monday, January 22, 2018, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
