Mrs. Betty Jean Yokeley McKeown, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday February 24, 2024. She was born to the late Joseph G. Yokeley and Elva Nading Yokeley on January 16, 1929, in Forsyth County, NC. 

Betty Jean loved cooking and reading, she was known for her famous chocolate fudge recipe. Betty Jean was very organized, strong, and caring, her family was very important to her. Along with her parents, Betty Jean is preceded in death by her loving husband R.J. McKeown and her brother Richard Yokeley. 

She is survived by her daughters Linda (Mike) Van Ormer, Joan Kimel, Judy (Eddie) Smitherman; sister Jane (William) Brock; granddaughters Suzanne Evans and Katie White; four great grandchildren; and a special friend and neighbor Tim Swift. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday February 28, 2024, at 2pm at Parklawn Memorial Park with Nephew Joey Yokeley officiating.
