Betty Ann Garwood Mock

LEXINGTON--Mrs. Betty Ann Garwood Mock, 84, of Lexington, NC, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Betty was born on September 13, 1927 in Forsyth County to the late Samuel and Mamie Garwood. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church. Betty spent 20 years at Western Electric where she was a secretary. She retired from Eckerd Drug Store after 11 years of service. Preceding Mrs. Mock in death along with her parents are her husband, Emory Mock and a daughter, Brenda ""B"" Gordon. Surviving Mrs. Mock are her son, Randy Mock (Lea) of Lexington, NC; three grandsons, Robert Gum (Tabitha) of Lexington, NC, Jody Gordon of Winston-Salem, and Cory Gordon of Clemmons, NC; three great-grandsons, Brady Gum, Cody Gum, and Zachary Gordon; a special niece, Carolyn Williams of Lexington, NC; special friends Wayne and Sandy Turner. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Midway United Methodist Church with Pastor John Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
