Betty Rose Tuttle Sheets, a faithful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on February 4, 2026, at the age of 97.
Betty was born on June 2, 1928, in Davidson County to the late Gurnie and Willie Tuttle. She was a 1946 graduate of Griffith High School. Betty retired from Western Electric (Southern Bell, AT&T) where she was employed in the Accounts Payable department for 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Faye; two brothers, Arnold Tuttle (Barbara) and Bobby Tuttle (Pat); two sons-in-law, Frank McHone and Bob O’Neill; and brother-in-law, Jim Worley.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Jimmy Sheets; three daughters, Debbie McHone, Ronda McBride (Alex), and Carolyn O’Neill; and one son, Scott Sheets (Kelly). She was adored by her 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Betty was a loving sister to Becky Snyder (Don), Nancy Worley, Burnette Tuttle (Kay), Ricky Tuttle (Susan), and sister-in-law, Libby Tuttle. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who knew and loved her as “Aunt Betty”; and dear friends, Wayne and Sharon Spooner.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Canaan United Methodist Church, 1760 Shady Grove Church Rd., Winston-Salem, with Rev. Jay Bowers officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
