Mrs. Betty ""Bet"" Satterfield Spaugh, 85, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Betty was born on July 29, 1930 to Edward Eugene Satterfield and Esther Lashmit Satterfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Max, Bill, Ray, Frank, Edward, Norman, and her sister, Gladys. She leaves her loving husband of 64 years, Carl F. ""Bub"" Spaugh, Jr.; her daughters, Debbie Flora (Steve), Bambi Meadows (Mike), and Dawn Essick (Clay); Tommy Woods, whom she loved like a son; grandchildren, Molli Falgout (Ty), Carly Williams (Ryan), Chase Meadows (Caitlin), Hunter and Hudson Essick, and Winston Woods whom she loved like a grandson; five great grandchildren, Tucker and Bodie Williams, Alli Essick, Ainsley Meadows, and Patton Falgout; her special sisters-in-law, Martha S. Whicker ""Tece"", Kathleen Satterfield; and a cherished friend, Betty Crater. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was a lifelong member, on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 11:00 am with Pastor Chris Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 2350 Bethel Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
