Mrs. Betty Jean Fulk Tally, age 89, went to be with the Lord December 22, 2017 at her residence. She was born August 20, 1928 in Forsyth County to the late John Hobart Fulk and Bessie Clyde Myers Fulk. Betty was a longtime faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church for 49 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Shelton Odell Tally, Jr.; three brothers, Melvin Fulk, John H. Fulk, Jr., and C.W. "Bill" Fulk; two sisters, Marlene Fulk Kiser and Patricia Fulk Sell. Betty is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Johnson (Garry) of Loxahatchee, Fl.; one son, Daniel Tally (Terri) of Germanton; three grandchildren, Eric Johnson of Gainesville, Fl., Shelby Tally Uselton (Jason) of Germanton, Jacob Tally of King; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald R. Fulk (Iris) of Kernersville; one sister, Judith Fulk Batten of Kernersville, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Gardens of Memory with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, PO Box 863, Walnut Cove, N.C., 27052. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
