Betty Ruth Beshears Teague

Mrs. Betty Ruth Beshears Teague, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014.

Betty was born November 14, 1929 to Walter and Lizzie Bates Beshears. She retired from AT&T and was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church. Betty was also an active member of the CWA Union of Western Electric (AT@T). In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Teague, brothers, Ernest and James Beshears, and sisters, Margaret Spillman and Nancy Alderman.

Betty is survived by five daughters, Vicki Draper and husband Bo of Lexington, Diane Haymore of Winston-Salem, Brenda Winters and husband Wesley of Yadkinville, Pam Bohannon and husband Ronald of Winston-Salem, and Karen Swaim and husband Dean of Winston-Salem; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Billy Beshears and wife Paige, and Douglas Beshears and wife Debbie; and sister Peggy Gabard.

A celebration of Betty's life will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Mark Reed, Rev. Luke Money officiating and with special speaker, Lois Whaley. Burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Friday, December 12, 2014 from 6 pm - 8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
