Ms. Betty Jane Blackburn Tuttle, age 72 of Tobaccoville passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Ms. Tuttle was born in Forsyth County June 8, 1941 to James Abernathy and Lillie Culler Blackburn. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Rural Hall and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 20 plus years of service. In addition to her parents Ms. Tuttle was preceded in death by five brothers; Henry, Grady, Robert, Paul, and Grover. One sister, Bonnie.
Ms. Tuttle is survived by two daughters; Sherri (Steve) Miller and Michelle Tuttle Fiancé Anthony. One son, Scott (Lessia) Tuttle. Seven grandchildren: Shane, Lee, Jessica, Taylor, Jake, Amanda and Brian. Fourteen great-grandchildren. Two sisters; Viola Westmoreland and Dot Holt. A sister-in-law, Dot Blackburn. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ms. Tuttle will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Pastor Jon White and Rev. Paul Norman. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller in Rural Hall Thursday evening February 27th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
