Betty Lou Venable

Mrs. Betty Lou Venable, 73, passed away May 2, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 20, 1942 in Surry County to the late Ervin Lewis and Lela Magdalene Danley. Betty retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church for many years. She served in many capacities including Sunday school teacher, choir member, and was a member of the Baptist Women. She shared her love for God with others by visiting nursing homes, encouraging others. She had a love for children, and many considered her to be their mother. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Billy ""Bill"" Ray Venable; three sisters, Nancy Jones (Bobby), Susie Jones (John), Teresa Horton (Randy); a special angel, Breonna Martin. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, May 6, 2016, at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church in Westfield, N.C. with Rev. Darrell Vestal, Rev. Yates Wilkerson, Rev. Mike Sands, and Brother Don Collins officiating. The family will receive friends, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller, Rural Hall Chapel from 6 PM to 8 PM.
