Betty Dodson Weatherman

Betty Dodson Weatherman passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023. Born on August 19, 1936, in Surry County, North Carolina, Betty was the daughter of Cleve and Ada Mae Dodson. 

Betty's warm and welcoming personality was her trademark. She possessed a true gift for making others feel at ease in her presence. Her genuine interest in people and ability to listen with empathy created an environment of comfort and understanding. In addition to being a nurturing soul, Betty had a passion for literature that fueled her love for reading. Betty also had an impressive collection of stuffed animals that brought her joy. If she wasn't traveling to Mt. Airy with the love of her life, Bob or cooking southern dishes, Betty's happiness was watching her favorite television show "Days of our Lives." This simple joy added an extra spark to Betty's life. Betty lived a life full of love, generosity, and kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew her. 

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Mr. Bobby S. Weatherman, her brother Bishop James Dodson and both Parents Cleve and Ada Mae Dodson.

Left to cherish her memories are her Daughters, June White; Kathy Alexander (Lee); Bobbie Mabe (Richard); grandchildren, Robin Ellis; Michael DePuew; Holly Brim; Justin and Matthew Alexander; great-grandchildren, Rose Idol; Talia and Declan Alexander; Kayti Miller; great, great grandchild, Jackson Roberts.  

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday December 1st, 2023 at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
