Betty White Dunn

Mrs. Betty Alexander White Dunn, 91, of Burlington, NC, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Peak Resources – Alamance in Graham, NC.  She was born August 19, 1931 to the late James D. and Jessie C. Alexander of Winston-Salem.

She graduated from Griffith High School, Winston-Salem in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart, James K. White, in 1953.

She loved music and was active as a singer in the choirs of Konnoak Hills Moravian Church in Winston-Salem and Grace United Methodist Church and the Alamance Chorale in Burlington, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bruce White, and her first husband, James K. White.

Surviving are her husband, William F. Dunn of Burlington; three sons: Kenneth White and wife Evelyn, of Mebane, NC; Philip White and wife Dee Dee, of Manakin-Sabot, VA; Steven White and wife Amanda, of Boone, NC; three grandchildren: Sarah Wiltshire and husband Cody, Jack White, and Benjamin White; and three great-grandchildren: Rhys Wiltshire, Shep Wiltshire, and Sloane Wiltshire.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday December 21, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel in Winston-Salem, with Rev. John D. Rights officiating. Burial will immediately  follow at God’s Acre in Old Salem.  The family will receive friends from 10:45 to 11:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Konnoak Hills Moravian Church, 3401 Konnoak Drive, Winston-Salem, NC, 27127, for the Music fund.
