Mrs. Betty Ann Brandon Younger went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Oak Forest Heath & Rehabilitation after a brief illness of cancer. She was born November 16, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Ruth Boles Brandon and Reuben Hord Brandon. Mrs. Younger retired from WS/FCS. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother and friend to all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Younger was preceded in death by her husband: Roland Jack Younger; grandson: Travis Martin; and a son-in-law: Steve Donathan. She is survived by four daughters: Vickie Tolley (Jack) of King, Sharon Adams (Jack) of King, Kathy Donathan of Thomasville, Barbara Martin (Mike) of Winston-Salem; two sons: Steve Younger of Rocky Mount, VA and Jack Younger of Germanton; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Robert Joseph Brandon and Johnny Wayne Wooten (Laura); and also, numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Gary Styers officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 28 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Liberty Baptist Church, 1548 Old Hollow Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
A special thank-you to those at Oak Forest that took care of our mother during her illness and also to her special neighbors.
