Beula Adams Chappell

Mrs. Beula Adams Chappell, 95, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Oaks. She was born February 15, 1918 in Yadkin County to the late Floyd Raymond and Mary Annie Vestal Adams. Beula was a member of Crews United Methodist Church. She retired from Sears with over 30 years of service. Beula had a caring, nurturing personality and always had a smile to share with everyone she met. She was dedicated to her family and friends, whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, Beula was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Harvey Lee Chappell, the love of her life; five brothers and one son-in-law, Gray Pope. Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Pope; a granddaughter, Amber Pope Holbrook (husband, Jason); a great granddog, Buster; three sisters-in-law, Belle Adams, Edith Adams and Rosa Chappell; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, the Pfeiffer family and Janie Frissell. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Crews United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Camp officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at The Oaks, Liberty Hospice, and a special niece, Lora Ann, for their love and care of Beula.
