Bill Gary 'Smokey" Swaim

Mr. Bill Gary ""Smokey"" Swaim, 68, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014. He was born March 12, 1946 in Forsyth County to the late William Verge and Jacquelyn Price Swaim. Smokey was the former owner-operator of Union Cross Speedway and North Davidson Speedway. Surviving are four children; Teresa Swaim Faulk, Jimmy Swaim, Ricky Swaim, Gary Swaim, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and his forever companion, ""Peanut"". A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, September 19, 2014 at New Friendship Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Rick Swaim. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, September 18 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel in memory of Bill Gary ""Smokey"" Swaim.
