Billy "Bill" Thomas Disher

Walkertown – Mr. Billy “Bill” Thomas Disher, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at his residence. He was born on September 14, 1927, in Forsyth County to Foy Thomas Disher, Sr. and Oaksey Snow Disher. Bill enjoyed working, retiring from Lucent in 1983 and then went into real estate for the next 25 years. He was the oldest living member of Oak Grove Moravian Church, and he loved his church family. Bill also loved to go to the beach. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Bill was kind, polite, quiet, respectful. He was admired and respected by his friends. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Z. Disher; his son, Kent Disher; one brother and one sister; and granddaughter, Gracelynn Westmoreland.

He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Beverly H. Disher; one son, Larry D. Disher (wife, Penny); stepson, Craig Davis (wife, Nikki); stepdaughter, Allison Westmoreland (husband, Ryan); five grandchildren, Ashley Spinks, Phillip R. Disher, Bailey Disher, Justin Davis (wife, Shannon) and Taylor Davis; three great grandchildren, Savannah Spinks, Miles Disher, and Nataya Disher. 

A memorial service for Bill will be held at 2pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Oak Grove Moravian Church with Pastor David Berrier officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church graveyard following the service. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
