Billy Bottoms

Mr. Billy Wilson “Bud” Bottoms, 78, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Surry Co. on February 7, 1940 the son of the late Porter Wilson Bottoms and Hazel Ruby Moser Bottoms. Bud was a truck driver with 16 years of service with Pilot Freight and then retiring from Roadway with 12 years of service. He Attended Brims Grove Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain. Bud was a caring, strong willed man who loved to be around people. He enjoyed going with his church to Universal Health Care, where they would visit and play Bingo on Friday nights. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Nelson Bottoms; and a son, Perry Wayne Bottoms. Bud is survived by a daughter, Anita Fulk (Tim) of Pilot Mountain; two sons, Terry Wilson Bottoms of Winston-Salem and Michael Lynn Bottoms (Marlene) of Danbury; six grandchildren, Amanda Burton, Cynthia Lambert, Nicholas W. Bottoms, Christopher Bottoms, Tasha Bottoms and Bradley Bottoms; nine great-grandchildren, Lauryn, Drake, Tyler, Carter, Daniel, Lilly, Ethan, Savannah and Aiden; one sister, Peggy Logan; and two brothers, Mack Bottoms (Louise) and Gray Bottoms (Carol). A memorial service celebrating Bud’s life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at Brims Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Gerald Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service at the church.
