He was born June 26, 1928 to H. Raymond and Pearl Comer Cash in Winston-Salem, NC. He is survived by sons, Keith Cash (Ruth) of Winston-Salem, Rick Cash (Arlene) of Clemmons; a daughter, Penny Painter (David) of Lexington; and two grandchildren, Zach and Zoe Painter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Becky Cash; his parents; brother HR Cash; and sister Wilda Hines. Bill was a retired Captain from Piedmont Airlines after 38 years of service where he also managed the 737 Flight Simulator. He served in the Army AirCorp for 3 years in Fairbanks Alaska, and was a veteran of World War II.Bill enjoyed flying his small planes after retirement, as well as taking on various home improvement projects. He was a member of Clemmons Moravian Church.A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Michael Gates and the Rev. Albert Smith officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.""God saw you were tired and took you home to reunite with Mom.
