Billy Bryant Hill

Mr. Billy Bryant Hill, 89, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at his home in Winston-Salem. He was born on August 27, 1934, in Pitt County, the son of the late William Edgar Hill and Mavis Tripp Hill. Billy was retired from the USAF as a Master Sergeant and has traveled all over the world. Billy and Barbara moved around a lot after they were married while he was in the service. He got a certificate to run a Serviceman's Center from his home and share the Gospel with his fellow Servicemen and women. They were very involved with missions’ outreach as well. He helped with the development of the first cell phones, and he worked on cell towers, radar dishes and missiles. He was also a retiree of Nokia (Western Electric) where he worked with electronics. Billy and Barbara were very devoted Christians and gave their lives in service to God. They never expected anything in return. Their only wish was that their children would love and serve God. Now, Billy has joined Barbara and their son David Lee at the right Hand of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Styers Hill; an infant son, David Lee Hill; brothers, William E. Hill, Harvey B. Hill, Edgar H. Hill, and a sister, Barbara Ann Perry. He is survived by a son, Mark David Hill (Kelly); a daughter, Shawn Leigh Hill; three grandchildren, Logan, Alex, and Aaron; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
