Bobbie Jean Simmons Idol

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Simmons Idol, 69, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born January 14, 1947 in Surry County to the late Roy and Nealy Simmons. Mrs. Idol was a devoted wife and a loving mother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Idol was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Johnnie Idol; two sons, Andrew Idol and Brent Idol (Matt Tolbert); two sisters, Sue Holt and Priscilla Walford; special friends: Marty, Linda, and Margie; and also, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, at Green Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kelly P. Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
