Bobbie Hine Keene

Bobbie Joyce Hine Keene, 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 27, 1940, to the late Colon Eli Hine Sr. and Elizabeth Reed Hine. From a young age, Bobbie loved music, particularly gospel music. She played the flute and enjoyed listening to the Moravian Band when attending church. She made a career as a registered nurse and became the “nurse on call” at any event she attended. As her children grew, she was their biggest supporter. Bobbie was at every event her children were involved in. She became each team’s baker and “bread lady”, whether that be for scouts, baseball, and anything in between. She adored her children and was their biggest fan. Bobbie was a charter member at First Christian Church in Kernersville (now known as The Crossing). She was dedicated to the Lord until she was united with him. She will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Keene; and two siblings, Eli Hine and Jonnie Tucker.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Keene and Kirby Keene (Tyra); two daughters, Cindy Clore (John) and Kathy Blake (Anthony); four grandchildren, Jason Clore (Catie), Caroline McGee (Matt), Christopher Kohut, and Ellie Virginia Keene; three great-grandchildren, Sailor Grace McGee, Stella James McGee, and Sawyer David McGee; a sister, Colene Voll (Ron); as well as other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Pete Kunkle officiating. The graveside will follow the service at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. A visitation will be held the night prior to the services, Wednesday July 15, from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, at 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
