Mr. Bobby Lee Marion, 88, resident of Rural Hall, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his home. He was born September 14, 1935, in Shoals, NC. Bobby married his high school sweetheart; Peggy Marion and they shared 69 years together. He was a member of Kingswood Methodist Church, enjoyed coaching little league baseball, gardening, deep sea fishing, watching NASCAR races, attending races at Bowman Gray Stadium, and serving the Stanleyville community through the civics club. Bobby also enjoyed traveling with his loving wife and good friends, Bobby, Betty, Alvin, and Norma. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Mona Swain and husband Billy of Clemmons, Cindy Thomas and husband Bruce of High Point, and Mark Marion and wife Tracy of Walburg; seven grandchildren, Garrett Swain, Graham Swain, Rustin Thomas, Tory Hinson (Jack), Will Thomas, Taylor Marion (Morgan), and Pait Marion; three great-grandchildren, Wesley Swain, Theus Hinson, and Louise Lee Hinson; three sisters, Jeanie Searcy, Carol Smith (Ed), and Judy Bullington (Wicki); and three brothers, Roger Marion, Ottie Marion, and Steve Marion. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00PM Tuesday April 2, 2024, at Hayworth Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Roy Miller, Mr. Roger Marion, and Mr. Mark Marion officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, Attn: Finance 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
