Bobby Louis Pettitt

Bobby Louis Pettitt, 85, peacefully walked into the arms of Jesus Thursday, October 1st, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 18th, 1941 in Stokes County, NC. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, man of faith, and friend who will deeply be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Bobby was married to his most cherished, beloved wife, Doris, for 64 glorious years. His love and devotion to his wife and family were the most important part of who he was. Along with his devotion to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Bobby worked for the city of Winston-Salem for 30 years in the traffic engineering department. He always took pride in his work whether he was on the farm or in the city.

A man of love, compassion, and integrity does not begin to describe the man that was Bobby Louis Pettitt. Bobby was a kind soul who treated everyone as if they had been familiar with each other for years. Bobby served in Faith Baptist Church for 45 years as a deacon and 43 years as head usher, where he was described as the benchmark of what a deacon should be, ready to do the will of the Lord. Bobby took the Body of Christ seriously, never forsaking the assembly as long as he was physically able to attend. If Bobby were here today he would earnestly tell everyone that there is hope and salvation in Jesus Christ, and that by faith in His life and work that even you can have eternal life.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Hildreth McCauley Pettitt and Artie Mae Reid Pettitt, his four brothers Glenn Thomas Pettitt, Charles McCauley Pettitt, Victor “Allen” Pettitt, and Donald Gray Pettitt, his maternal and paternal grandparents. And his God-given blessings that loved and raised him, Bessie Emma Rachel, and Roy and Minnie Moorefield.

Bobby is survived by his devoted, loving wife Doris Pettitt. His loving Children Joel Blaine Pettitt and his wife Penny Pettitt, April Pettitt Bullins and her husband Roger Bullins. His grandchildren Joshua K. Bullins and his wife Amber Bullins, Ethan W. Bullins and his wife Julianne Bullins, Maria Huffman, and Kelly Keith. His great-grandchildren Abigail Trotter, Emma Bullins, Aubree Bullins, Erynn Bullins, and Reid Bullins. As well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bobby’s life will take place on October 5th, 2026 at Faith Baptist Church, Westfield NC. With the visitation beginning at 1 PM and the funeral beginning at 2 PM, with Pastor David Allen Grubbs officiating.
