Bobby Gray Scott

Bobby Gray Scott, 76, passed away on October 12, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Bobby was born on April 26, 1950, in Winston-Salem, NC, to Fred Estel and Virginia Todd Scott. He graduated from West Forsyth High School. For many years, he worked as a certified machinist and tool grinder for Westinghouse (now Siemens Energy). He later opened his own paving business, Scott’s Services.

One of Bobby’s greatest joys in life was fishing with his friends. He was a lifelong member of Bethel Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, NC.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his son, William Frederick Scott. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Wilmoth Scott; daughter, Jennifer McKnight (Danny); grandchildren, Heather Elizabeth Hooks (Cory), Bobby Fredrick Scott, Bridgette Star, Cory Brendle; and great-grandchild, Nolan Hooks.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Bethel Methodist Church, by Rev. Dr. Bob O’Keef. A burial will immediately follow the service at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in William Scott’s memory or to Bethel Methodist Church, 2170 Bethel Methodist Church Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
