Mr. Boyce “Skip” Allen Grubbs, Sr., 70, passed away Tuesday April 2, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 19, 1948 in Forsyth County, the son of William Allen and Mary Alice Faircloth Grubbs. He was the owner/operator of Quality Towing and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Vietnam. Skip was an accomplished Martial Artist obtaining his Black Belt in Taekwondo. He was a proud honest man who was devoted to his family. His children said, “He was not only a father, but a friend”. He is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Brooklyn Isabella Grubbs; a brother, Stephen Anthony Grubbs and a nephew, Stephen Douglas Grubbs. Survivors include the love of his life, Janie Grubbs, of the home; his children, Angela Grubbs Dotson and husband, John of Walnut Cove, Boyce “Chip” Grubbs, Jr. and wife, Stephony of Pilot Mt., Christopher Grubbs of Winston-Salem and Nathan Grubbs and fiancée, Melissa King of Winston-Salem; a brother, David Grubbs and wife, Tina of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Susan Dawson, Deborah Dixon and Sandi Grubbs all of Winston-Salem; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. Jerry Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, April 5, 2019 at the funeral home.
