Mrs. Brenda Kay Kirby, 75, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Brenda was born on April 3, 1950, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she was raised by Betty and Ralph Stewart. She attended West Forsyth High School and worked at Made Rite Sandwich Company and Casual Furniture World. She and her husband, William Edward “Skip” Kirby Jr., were members of Ardmore United Methodist Church.
Brenda’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved spending time with them and creating lasting memories.
Brenda is preceded in death by her foster parents, Betty and Ralph Stewart, and half-brothers, David Lunsford and Michael Lunsford.
She is survived by her loving husband, Skip; children, William Edward “Kip” Kirby III (Charnita), Kristina Kirby-Brown (Scott); Jamie Kirby (Karen), Megan Kirby Ericksen (Dan); grandchildren, Mackenzie Kirby, Delaney Kirby, Hailey Pritchard, Kirby Brown, Alex Brown, Christopher Kirby, Matthew Kirby, Cade Scott, Austin Kirby, Lizza Williams, Katy-Bea Kirby, Ally Scott, Melody Ericksen, and Junior Ericksen; and great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Pritchard, Scout Kirby, Rowan Kirby, Callan Scott, Tucker Williams, Malone Kirby, Noah Scott, and Jackson Williams.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
