Brenda Ceretha Myers Sowers

Mrs. Brenda Ceretha Myers Sowers, 67, of Lexington, NC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Brenda was born on October 16, 1948 in Davidson County, NC to Clayton and Olga Myers. She was co-owner of DRS Inc. and enjoyed working alongside her family each day. She loved to spend quality time with her family and friends. Brenda especially loved watching her grandchildren play ball each week. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by three brothers, Steve, Darrell, and Donald Myers; and two sisters, Vera Norton and Frances Parmley. She is survived her loving husband of 48 years, Donald Sowers; one daughter, Ceretha Mitchell and husband Jim; one son Nathan Sowers and wife Lindsey; one sister, Gail Beck; one brother, John ""Billy ""Myers; and four grandchildren, Chase and Justis Mitchell, and Mason and Landon Sowers. A funeral service for Brenda will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Pinedale Christian Church with Pastor Matthew Sink and Pastor Bob McCaskill officiating. Interment will follow the service at Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery in Lexington, NC. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Lupus Foundation of America, 4530 Park Road Suite 302, Charlotte, NC 28209.
