Brenda Sue Steele

Brenda Sue Steele, blessed with a vibrant spirit, was born on October 6, 1949, in the picturesque McDowell County, West Virginia. She departed from this world on August 19, 2025, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories woven with love and laughter.

Brenda found joy in life's simple pleasures—fishing was her favorite pastime, exploring the beauty of nature on road trips, and relishing the warmth of family gatherings. Her heart was made happy by the sight of the ocean waves and the majesty of the mountains, with a particular fondness for her treasured return to her roots in West Virginia.

er greatest joy came from the time spent with her beloved grandchildren, who were truly the apples of her eye. She could often be found on her porch, sipping her morning coffee while the sun began to rise, or in the kitchen crafting delicious Sunday feasts that drew her family together. Those weekends were filled with laughter, stories, and a shared sense of belonging that Brenda nurtured with all her heart.

An accomplished bowler, Brenda infused joy into every game she played, shining brightly within her bowling league. Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious, radiating warmth to both friends and family alike.

Brenda is lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Crystal Ann Hall (Doug), Lisa Jackson, and Donna Garner (Tony), along with her cherished siblings, Ethel Shepherd, Rosie Hanes (Jim), Roxie Cox (Donald), Betty Lester, and Barbara Hunt. She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren—Cassandra McCoy (Austin), Kaleb Hall (Austin), Chance Carter (Katelyn), Jenny Smith (Dillon), Stacy Whitaker (Cody), Melvin Hall Jr., and Blake Driggers—as well as her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Colson, Mallory, Cayden, Jaxon, Crue, Colton, Clay, and Sophie.

Brenda was preceded in death by her loving parents, Andy and Liza Lester, her siblings Zela England, Ella Lowe, Walter and Willard Lester, and her great-grandchild Kensley Jade Teague, her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

As we reflect on Brenda’s life, we celebrate her spirit, her dedication to family, and the countless moments of joy she gifted us. May her legacy of love and warmth forever illuminate our lives.
