Brenda Sue Blevins Lemons

Mrs. Brenda Sue Blevins Lemons, 74, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, surrounded by her loving family. Brenda was born on May 6, 1951, in Henry County, VA to the late Robert Dallas Blevins and Opal Sue Dancy Blevins.

Brenda was raised in Martinsville, VA and graduated from Martinsville High School and Patrick Henry College/UVA. Martinsville is also where she met her beloved husband, Charles. They were married and began their family in Martinsville before moving to Winston-Salem, NC in 1981. Brenda and Charles joined Ardmore Baptist Church in 1981, where she served in numerous capacities including missions and outreach. Brenda poured her heart into missions work and spreading God’s word to many communities. She was employed with the pediatric office of Drs. Charles Stamey and Betsy Parsley throughout the 1990’s.

She enjoyed many hobbies including antiquing, refinishing furniture, genealogy research, home remodeling, movies, puzzles, board games, baking, canning, preparing huge, over the top holiday meals and special indulgences with her grandsons.

Brenda volunteered her time in many ways including Meals on Wheels, Boy Scouts, Winston-Salem Convalescent Center, and assisting the staff at the various schools her son Rob attended growing up.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerald Blevins. Brenda is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Lemons; son, Rev. Robert Charles Lemons (Emily); grandsons, Bobby Lemons (Jillian) and Wesley Lemons (Katherine); sisters, Betty Blevins Wright and Bonnie Blevins Mugridge; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Ardmore Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Tankersley, Dr. Gina M. Brock, and Rev. Christa Warise officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller St., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
