Buddy Tackett

Mr. Buddy Donald Tackett, 71, passed away November 9, 2018 after a short illness.  He was born  February 22, 1947 in Tazwell County, Virginia to the late William Tackett and Lydia Ethel Tackett.  Buddy was loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He was well-liked in his community.  In the latter part of his career, he supervised the Shoals Community Landfill and became friends with all who came there.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.  He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Eileen Johnson Tackett; two sons and their wives, Buddy Tackett, Jr. (Michelle), and Mike Tackett (April); six grandchildren, Colton, Kayleigh, Austin, Alora, Christopher, and Kristen; One great-grandchild, Asa; two sisters, Betty Childress, Mary Williams, and countless nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church of King with Pastor Kevin Broyhill officiating.  Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church of King.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.  (Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall).
