Bula Shanks

Mrs. Bula Elaine Jensen Shanks, 77, of Clemmons, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, November 30, 2017. She was born July 9, 1940 in Lincoln, NE, to the late Mr. Uffe Jenson and Mrs. Buela Boggs Jensen. Mrs. Shanks was an active Christian and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she formerly was the youth choir director. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Mr. Kenneth Shanks, a daughter, Gwendolyn Shanks Joyner, and a grandson, Trey Joyner. Surviving are a son, Gene Shanks of Greensboro, a granddaughter, Carissa Joyner, a brother, Jeff Jenson of Colorado, a sister, Marilyn Nelson of Nebraska, a plethora of nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. A graveside service will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, December 4, 2017 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, officiated by Rev. Dr. Steve Pillsbury. A Celebration of Life will be held following the graveside service, 12:00 Noon, at Trinity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prayer Garden and Columbarium of Trinity United Methodist Church, 3819 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
