Byron Jones

Mr. Byron Lee Jones, 88, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019. He was born in West Virginia on January 15, 1931 to Charles and Lillie Jones. Byron retired from being a long-distance truck driver. He enjoyed his time meeting with his retiree groups and he was a Yokefellow with the Forsyth County Jail Prison Ministry. In addition to his parents, Byron was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Jones of Bradenton, Florida; and brother, Charles K. Jones of West Virginia. Surviving are his wife, Doris; daughters, Barbara Wilson (Rick) and Susan Shumate (Ronnie); daughter-in-law, Sherry Jones of Florida; granddaughters, Kimberly and Kendyl; grandson, Michael Berrier; great-grandchildren, Wesley Jones and Greyson Berrier; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Paul Kendall officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
