Calvin Floyd Davis

Mr. Calvin Floyd Davis, age 84 of King passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Universal Health Care in King. Mr. Davis was born October 11, 1930 in Framingham, MA to Chauncey Floyd and Mary Martin Davis. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in King, a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents Mr. Davis was preceded in death by two brothers; Gerald F. Davis and Wally M. Davis. One step-daughter, Bytena Marlena Shumate.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 29 years, Rebecca ""Becki"" Davis of the home. One daughter, Lori Anne (Henry) Cook of High Point. Five grandchildren; Matthew Cook, Jacob, Luke, Noah and Scottie Shumate. One step-son, James Shumate of King. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Rev. Kevin Broyhill. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. Military burial honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 290 of King.
The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller in Rural Hall Sunday evening December 21st from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.
