Calvin Eugene Parrish

Calvin Eugene Parrish, 78, of Forsyth County, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. Born on March 26, 1948, in Forsyth County, he was the son of the late Arnold and Frances Lemar Parrish.

Calvin was the proud owner of Cliff Harvel's Moving Company, a business he poured his heart into for many years. He took great pride in his work and the community he served where he was also the owner of Classic Painting Company, a testament to his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family.

A longtime faithful member of Kerwin Baptist Church, Calvin served as an usher for many years - a role that reflected his quiet dedication to his faith and his willingness to serve others. One of Calvin's greatest joys was fishing at Cape Lookout, a place he returned to year after year alongside his family and dear friends. Those trips were more than a hobby - they were some of his most treasured moments, full of laughter, love, and lasting memories that those who knew him will carry forever.

Calvin was a man who led by example, not only in business and in faith, but in family. He opened his heart and home, raising his granddaughter Brandi Cottingham alongside his own children, and shared an incredible bond with his grandson’s Aaron Parrish, Ezra Parrish and niece Brittany Lawson - a connection that will leave a lasting mark on each of them for the rest of their lives.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Clinard Parrish of 53 years, who he loved unconditionally - a love that was steady, devoted, and unwavering to the very end. She was his best friend, his partner, his companion, and the heart of their home. In addition, he is survived by his children, Cissy Parrish, Gene Parrish (Lisa), Jeff Parrish (Sheila) and Kevin Parrish; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; siblings Bob Parrish (Pam), Dolly Johnson (Rex), Debbie Beasley, sister-in-law Hao Parrish and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Parrish; his brother, Eddie Parrish; and his sister, Christine Johnson.
