Cameron ""Shaggy"" Ellis, 21 years of age, passed early morning on Friday, September 2, 2016 at his residence in Winston-Salem, NC. Cameron was born September 29, 1994 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Cassandra Allen and Troy Ellis. He was the middle of three children; his brother, Caleb Alexander Ellis preceded Cameron in death. His wonderful stepfather Michael Joe Allen also preceded Cameron in death. Cameron was never married and has no known children. Cameron professed his life to Christ at an early age. The family moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2003 and he joined Cornerstone Baptist Church. He loved spending time with the youth at church and cherished praising the Lord in his own unique way. Cameron loved to fish and play his guitar and would break out in song to all those that would listen. Cameron enjoyed spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on his face. He was a loving and caring person, devoted to his ""Madre"", sister, and a friend to many: always thinking of others first. ""To know him was to love him in all his idiosyncrasies."" Cameron leaves a vacant place in his mother and sister's heart, Cassandra Allen and Casey Ellis; and void in the hearts of 8 uncles, 2 aunts, 12 cousins, countless extended family and host of friends.
Although I miss my son dearly I know that one day I will be with him again worshiping with our wonderful Loving Lord and Savior.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4507 Thomasville Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107, in care of Cameron Ellis.
Services are to be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church on September 6, 2016. Visitation will begin at 5:30 pm and extend to 6:15 pm. Memorial service will begin at 6:30 pm. Family is receiving at Cameron's residence prior to September 6, 2016.
