Carl "Bud" Lee Owen Jr.

WINSTON-SALEM - Rev. Dr. Carl ""Bud"" Owen, Jr. was born on September 1, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Carl L. Owen, Sr. and Polly Joyce Owen. He passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center after several years of declining health. Bud was a 1960 graduate of Mineral Springs High School, a graduate of Piedmont Bible College and Trinity Theological Seminary. He pastored Temple Baptist Church in Lewisville, N.C. from September 1977 until January 2016. He married his childhood sweetheart, Billie Sneed Owen on September 3, 1960, who survives of the home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Amy (Robert) Tilson of Matthews, N.C.; son Scott (Teresa) Owen of King, N.C.; and the pride and joy of his life three grandsons, Deputy Chris Owen of Lewisville, N.C., SPC Nick (Sarah) Owen serving in the U.S. Army in Okinawa, Japan, and Matt Tilson, a sophomore at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C.; 2 sisters, Carole (""Jim"" ""Bill"") Persiani of King, N.C. and Sue Cook of Mountain City, TN; special sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce (Gary) Hudson of Clemmons, N.C. and Beverly (Mike) Smith of Pfafftown, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; and a special mother-in-law, Ruby Lindley. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00-8:00PM at Hayworth-Miller, Lewisville, N.C. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00PM at Temple Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Gene Chitwood.
