Carol Hicks

KERNERSVILLE - Carol Freeman Hicks, 74, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at her home. Carol was born on July 10, 1944 in Forsyth County to Arthur and Maggie Goode Freeman. She faithfully attended several churches throughout her life and most recently was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. Carol enjoyed music and singing in the church choir. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Hicks; one brother, Roy Freeman; and three sisters, Pauline Hicks, Louise Stanley, and Betty Hughes. Surviving are her son, Allen Hicks (wife, Laura) of Apex; two grandchildren, Carter Allen and Emily Elizabeth Hicks; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Wayne Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
