Carol Ann Mabes Cole

Mrs. Carol Ann Mabes Cole, 80, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Carol was born in Rockingham County to the late Holland Franklin Mabes and Lorene Frances Kiger Mabes on April 29, 1943. 

She attended First Church of the Brethren in Mt. Airy. Carol was a dedicated wife, mother, and Memaw. She thought the world of her great grandchildren. Carol was a huge fan of NASCAR. If there was a race on, you could always find her in the recliner with her cup of ice cold Pepsi. 

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Don Cole; sister, Joan Johnson; brother, Holland Mabes Jr.. She is survived by her children, Alton Cole (Diane) and Carlton Cole (Tina); grandchildren, Christin Cole, Brittany Swing (John), Morgan Williams (Martin) and Danielle Payne; six great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Hubbard and Linda Norman; brother, Henry Mabes; many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11 AM Monday October 23, 2023, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
